Where we're doing skits for the AWANA leaders' appreciation
I dreamed we were doing the AWANA skit in drama to thank the leaders for having worked this year, except we were doing a series of skits. The first one was a serious one. In fact, it was the human video of Chris Rice's "Untitled Hymn" that we did a ways back.
Then we did this really, really stupid one that had no spiritual point at all and was mostly adlibbed. It involved like... being able to switch between worlds. There was this big dance pad on the floor, and it had four sections around the edge and then one in the middle. If you jumped in the middle and then on to one of the sections, it would switch to that world. I remember World #2 was like "Party" or something, and World #4 had a picture of stars and the sun on it and it was titled "Madness" and if I jumped on it we'd be transported to this world where everyone was nuts. At one point we also had people positioned in the audience to stand up and start acting crazy. I'm not sure why we did this. Why would we want to scare these people any more than they probably already were?
When it was finished, Jayme whispered to me, "That was horrible." I said no, it had gone well.
We had two more skits to do, one was silly and one was serious. There was a break, though, and we started mulling around and putting the set away. Melanie showed up in what was apparently a giant radish costume, but we told her she didn't have to wear it yet. So she took it off, and underneath she had this ENORMOUS fancy blue gown with like... giant ruffles around her neck. I remember one shot of her where she was walking out of the sanctuary, dragging the radish costume behind her.
Before we were to perform the other skits (one which featured the radish costume), Dacia had a song to sing. Well, at first it was Dacia. And at first she was singing "Untitled Hymn" but she kept laughing because she didn't know we were going to do a skit on it. As she walked closer to us, though, I saw it was really Carly, who was in the drama team LAST year, and she was singing parts of "Untitled Hymn" but parts of just her own song. Also, she was absolutely horrible. She kept trying to sing opera-like notes and changing keys all over the place. It was one of the worst singing jobs I've ever heard, and that includes Oi Holy Night. Amber was sitting next to me, and she pointed this out to me: "She's awful."
