Where my sisters and I are running away

I had an incredibly long winding dream. I had two little sisters - the youngest one was about five and named Pom-Pom and the other one was probably thirteen or so and named something normal like Jane. We were running away for some reason. Along the way we realized that there was treasure where we were, hidden in people's homes, and we decided to find it. We didn't know exactly what the treasure was, but we were definitely going to find it.

We would ask people if we could stay at their house, and then find out something weird was going on, search the house, and usually find nothing, except the owner would find out what we were doing and chase us out. In one instance, Pom-Pom and Jane and I ran across about twelve fields of . . . grass, actually, being chased by several girls, one of which was Kellie from American Idol. Eventually we made it out by each leaping over these nine-foot wooden fences (even Pom-Pom). We knew Kellie wouldn't be able to follow us.

It was at this point that we found these holes in the ground. Next to them was a newspaper that talked about how aliens might have landed here. We got all excited and decided that something alien-related was the treasure we were looking for.

The bulk of this story took place at a farm, which was the next place we went. The people there were awfully nice. They gave us each our own room (mine had a computer in it), even though they had like six kids.

The day after we got there was Sunday, so we all went to church with them. We sat up in the very, very front of the church, and at the end of the service there was a potluck. Several people came up to us and introduced themselves, including a guy who was clearly my stalker from school, except his name was, like... Dr. Hall or something.

We started talking, and at this point everything kinda meshed over into real life, because my parents were suddenly there, and as "Dr. Hall" and I talked, it turned out he was entering the Phidian writing contest as well. Then he pulled out a checkbook and wrote two checks and gave them to me. They were both made out to me, but one was $12 and was for Phidian, and the other was like $111 or something weird and said on it "for college and knowledge".

I started protesting that he couldn't pay for my Phidian entry OR my college education, and at that point my dad came up and said, "So, what are you doing?" I tried to explain what Dr. Hall was trying to do, and my dad looked ULTRA disapproving. (As was I!)

So I went home to the farm, where apparently I was still living, even though my parents were around, and every night when I checked my email Dr. Hall's email would be waiting for me. I'm not sure how he got my email, but it started creeping me out a lot. So Pom-Pom and Jane and I decided to leave.

The next house we found was an older woman's. When we went in, Pom-Pom was covered in disgusting, drippy mud. She looked a bit like No-Face from Spirited Away when it was covered in the guck. She walked right into the woman's house, went to the toilet, and threw up.

As we investigated the house, we didn't find any suspicious things. We were about ready to leave until Jane remembered that when the old woman had given us a tour of the house, she said of the attic, "Once when Gertie was coming down the stairs, she hurt her toe." While we hadn't any idea who Gertie was, we concluded that this must mean there was something suspicious in the attic. We searched around up there and finally triumphed - we found a blue nail and a blue poker chip.

We decided this would be the best moment to leave, so we crept out the back yard gate, only to find a giant ferocious dog that was apparently the woman's. We slammed the gate shut and realized that she didn't want us to just sneak out.
