Where I look for a Dairy Queen
I dreamed I really, really wanted to go to Dairy Queen. Nathan had just gotten his license, so I decided to make him drive me out there. We kept getting lost, though, and wandered around and around. Nathan wasn't a very good driver - at one point he wanted to switch lanes so he stopped dead in the middle of the street, turned the steering wheel all the way to the left and CIRCLED his way around into the right lane. At that point I decided to take over driving.
We pulled into this little gas station we thought had a Dairy Queen, but it turned out it was a Kroger (which shifted identities frequently - first it was a Kroger, then a Target, then a Salvation Army, then a Sam's Club). I wandered all over the store looking for Dairy Queen but couldn't find it anywhere. So I just bought all these bags of candy, including this enormous Ziplock bag that had two candy hearts inside it. I also found a water bottle exactly the same as the cool one I have now that had a little tag on it that said "Regular Glass." I knew this meant that it was the same price as all the rest of the glasses in the store, which was $2. Great deal, considering we paid like $15 for mine.

Where I go book shopping before we go to Rhode Island
I dreamed we were flying to Rhode Island for a cousin's wedding (not sure whose) and decide to stop by a bookstore before we went to the airport. This bookstore was run out of a neighbor's garage and once it had been just like a series of books on worshipping the dead, but now there were all sorts of books. I went through picking up books and then realized I didn't have any cash with me, so I asked Nathan to go back to the house and get some. When he came back, Mom was with him. She looked at my stack of books and told me I wasn't allowed to get any with toys attached. For some reason I had picked up all these little kid books that DID have toys included with them, so I sullenly threw them all in a pile since I wasn't allowed to have them. I went up to pay for the books and saw that they DID take Discover credit cards, although mine's a Visa, and there was something there about accepting debit cards, but it was pretty much super confusing, like you had to text your bank and ask them to put money in your account by saying "SHUFFLE [however much money you wanted]."
At another point in the dream we were packing the van like we were going on a road trip, although we were just going to the airport. Dad told each of us to bring two pillows and a blanket for the plane, but then gave us a huge lecture on how ANYTHING we brought in the van had to stay in our seat with us.

Where I let the kids watch an evil movie
I dreamed I had some extremely gory slasher movie on my laptop and decided to let the kids watch it, except halfway through I decided it was a bad idea, so I turned it off. Then I felt stupid for letting the kids watch it, so I made them promise not to tell Mom and Dad.

Where Michael Jackson wants to buy the church
I dreamed that Michael Jackson wanted to buy the church to use as his new dance studio. He and Janet Jackson were going to come and look over the church with their real estate agent, but every time he did, Nathan was sleeping on one of the pews. Michael thought that if he bought the church, Nathan would come with it, and he didn't want Nathan, so he refused to buy it. I was furious that Nathan had ruined the business deal. I remember there was a lot of sneaking around the church trying to stay out of people's way, and at one point I was trying desperately to wake Nathan up so he'd leave the sanctuary, but he refused to get up.
In another part of the dream, Michael bought a bike that at first he said was for Joel, but then he hung it up from the church ceiling and said whoever could get it first, could have it.

Where Nathan plays a video game
I dreamed I was watching a play called Roxie. It starred Katharine Hepburn and some other famous actress named Audrey Umber, except they didn't show up until the very end. Then they did show up, and Katharine said, "Aren't you glad for all the new friends you've made today?" To which Audrey replied, yes, and began listing them all: "Billy, and Danny, and..." When she finished the list, Katharine said, "You forgot Roxie!" Audrey gasped and said, "Oh, dear! I'll try again." She repeated the entire list, stopping halfway through to say, "I'm trying not to forget Roxie!" but she forgot Roxie again . . . so she had to do the whole thing over again. This happened about three more times. Katharine just kept getting madder and saying things like, "Just spit it out!" I then read a review of this play, and someone said, "This is what I love about the old movie actresses. They can be funny without repeating the same thing over and over!"
Then it switched to real life, and I was watching Nathan play some video game with a main character named Benton, who was out in the middle of a field. Right in front of him was a fireplace, and to his far right was a cafeteria. Nathan was going to make his character "exit east," but for some reason I wanted his character to only take two steps east and then sit down in front of a cabinet. When Nathan asked me why I wanted him to do this, I said, "Well, that's what they did in the play!" So he tried to take two steps east (except, er, in actuality he was going west) and then it popped up a screen that said "EXIT EAST?" so he chose yes, and this is what his character did - took two steps to the left, five steps down, about twelve steps to the right, and then seven steps up into the cafeteria.
The game was full of Engrish and nonsensical dialogue, too. At one point a unicorn showed up. When someone told Benton, there was this exchange: "There's a unicorn." "A unicorn?" "Yes. (Closing his eyes and pounding his forehead with his hand) But sometimes I lose control of him with my mind!"
Then, later, Benton went to go find the unicorn, who had turned into a horse. When he found him, Benton's line was, "Well, whatever you do, don't find a unicorn and merge with him and make yourself a unicorn! Bye."

Where I take my baby to the swamp
I dreamed I had a baby and had to drive out to this swamp to visit this wise old man and get the baby to safety. Someone kept driving a car through this old man's driveway, and then I found myself stuck in his house while he was gone getting groceries. The whole time, there was this sense of terrible forboding, like I was eventually going to die, no matter what I did. Nathan was trying to help me, too, but I wouldn't help him out by telling him who was after me or anything.

Where there are lots of spiders
I dreamed that there were a lot of the spiders from Corpse Bride running all over the place, and I had a long conversation with Nathan about how I much preferred spiders with big fat legs to spiders with little teeny ones, because spiders with little teeny legs looked ickier when they walked fast. (It's true, too!)

Where there's a bunch of bugs in the car
I dreamed Nathan, Dad, Joel, and I were driving to Missouri, and suddenly Joel began to cry. When I turned around, I saw a giant spider about the size of a coconut sitting on the dashboard. It had a giant purple body that kind of looked like a balloon. Then, a minute later, there was a swarm of bees in the car, too. Dad was like, "Hannah, don't look, you don't want to see this!" But of course it was too late, I had already seen it all by then, and I told Dad so.

Where Sarah L calls me
I dreamed Bethany came into my room at six o'clock in the morning to tell me I had a phone call. We had a cell phone for some reason, and so she handed me the phone and I said, "Hello?" And I hear on the other end of the phone, "......Hello?" "Um, yes, hello." "This is Sarah." "Sarah.... who?" "Sarah L." (Except she said her last name.)
I was a little taken aback because Sarah has avowed she hates the phone as much as I do, and I was about to ask her when she said, "Yeah, I know, you thought I'd never call you, but I had to."
"Isn't it like four in the morning your time?!" I asked, and she said yes, but didn't go into any further detail about why she'd called or anything, just walked around her house talking to the people in it and not even really talking to me.
There was another part of the dream where Nathan was absolutely furious because there were no tortilla chips left.

Where I watch the Doogly Snort movie and run away from the Terminator
I had two dreams that sort of mixed and intermingled with each other. In one, I was watching a movie (written by someone named Doogly Snort) and it was about The Boy Who Wasn't There, except he really was there, he just would evaporate in the wind. In the movie he floated on a balloon to this place with a red barn, and when he went inside it was a spaceship. Angelina Jolie was in there and she was working very hard on something but getting frustrated because the only other crew member on board was John Travolta and he was wearing a cape and dancing and singing in the no gravity room. ("No gravityyyy, no gravityyyyy, zero zero zero gravityyyyy" occasionally mingled with "Money, money, he gave me money, money, money" from Knox's The Matrix). She kept yelling at him to shut up and get in and help her fix the ship.
Then I was in my house and this dude said, "The one thing my three-year-old girl is deathly afraid of is the Terminator. Let's scare her." For some reason I go along with this, so the guy hands me what looks like a giant hand puppet of.... a really fat Grover from Sesame Street? So I put the hands over my hands and try to fit the head over my head and body except it doesn't really work. Somehow I get it on except then I've also got sinister black gloves on (like Darth Vader gloves).
The guy says, "I'll dress up as him too, and we'll chase her through the house," and so he hides upstairs. Everything changes here, and suddenly it's not us trying to scare his daughter, it's Nathan and me playing tag. (I'm still in the costume, and he's upstairs where the guy would've been, still in the costume, just the purpose has changed.) So all these children come running down out of the attic, and I run out and down the stairs but he's pretty close behind and I try to go barreling out the door by smashing into the handle so it'll open and I can just run out without stopping, but I miss and just smash into the door. So I turn and run in the opposite direction and jump over the kitchen table (yeah, right, like I could do THAT in real life) and then I wake up.

Where Dad dies in the hospital
I dreamed that there had been news of Stephen and Libby's father being very sick, close to dying. Nathan and Bethany and I were in the den with Dad, talking, when Mom got a phone call. We were all chatting, and Dad shushed us to listen to what Mom was saying. Mom said something to us that I couldn't hear, and she began to cry. I stood up and walked over to her and asked what she had said, and she yelled at me, frustrated, "MY HUSBAND IS DEAD!" And I realized with a shocking certainty that it was MY father who had been sick in the hospital and was now dead.

Where Nathan knows Jude Law
I dreamed my family went to see a Garfield music on stage (*shudder*). It was a dinner theater, so we're all sitting in the theater eating. At our table there's this (apparently) very rich guy (who actually looks like Jude Law in I Heart Huckabees). He vaguely knows Nathan. Mom is trying to show her knowledge of this guy by quoting his life story, but gets it all wrong, and he keeps looking at her and going, "Er... no." He also pinpointed this one movie and said that his father made it but that he didn't find the movie at all inspiring. Then a week later we're reading a quote from his agent in the paper: "He says he PROBABLY said that his father's picture WAS inspiring," which totally disgusted my mom because he was being hypocritical or something.

Where ApologetiX was at B'qi's school
I dreamed that Mom and all my siblings except Nathan had mysteriously vanished, so Dad, Nathan, and I were moving to this new house. On our way we stopped off at B'qi's church/school where there was an ApologetiX concert (why does my mind keep linking B'qi with ApologetiX?) and for some reason we didn't want the band so see us so we kept sneaking around.
Then I walked into one of B'qi's classes and wandered around looking for her, and suddenly she was in the back of the room walking toward me with her arms outstretched to give me a hug. And then I called her "Anuncio".

Where Nathan and his friends do evil things
I dreamed that Nathan and his friends were running upstairs to his room to play some sort of evil video game and were all, "No, no, of course we won't tell anyone else about it."

Where Nathan goes out drinking
I dreamed Nathan turned 16 (er... yeah, again) and went out drinking and driving to celebrate. He finally came home like the next morning and Mom and Dad didn't say anything about it, and I was thinking, "WHAT? You're not going to reprimand him for this?"

Where Dad dies
I dreamed Nathan and I were in my room on my computer (which had Net access somehow) and were looking for tickets for this Michael Jackson concert that Mom wanted to go to. (Erm. Yeah...) We finally found one, and Nathan yelled down the hall to Mom and Dad who were (I thought) sleeping, to ask if Dad wanted a ticket too. Mom told Nathan to come into their room so they could talk about it, and then we heard her going, "Kevin, wake up. Kevin? Kevin? KEVIN!? YOU'VE GOT TO WAKE UP!!!" And apparently Dad had just died during the night.... *shudder* I woke up a bit freaked out, needless to say. A dream very fraught with emotional nuttiness.

Where Nathan can't wait for Mom's great-uncle to die
I had a dream that my mom had this great-uncle who only called her Usa or Jan, and he was apparently leaving all his money to us, and he kept saying, "It won't be long until I'm dead and you have my money," and Nathan was like, "WOW! Cool! Think of all the things we can buy with the money!" And I was like, "NATHAN! You don't SAY things like that, that's horrible!"

Where Mom, Nathan, and Bethany try to kill a cockroach
I had a dream that Mom and I were cleaning up the boys' room (why? Who knows!) and Bethany walks in holding this bright orange bug in her hand and says, "Mom, is this cockroach dead?" and so Mom told Nathan to take a pair of pliers and throw the cockroach out the window. Then there were these little green bugs with antennae about a foot long and they turned out to be bees in green bug disguises.
